Anyone 18 and up who lives in Maryland and has been vaccinated against COVID-19 at a non-federal facility is automatically entered into the lottery. They have been randomly assigned numbers by Maryland Department of Health. Daily, the Maryland Lottery will select a winning number using a random number generator that will correspond to a person who has been vaccinated.

The Maryland Department of Health, which keeps vaccination records, reaches out to the winners using the contact information they provided at the time of vaccination. Winners can remain anonymous.

Federal facilities include those run by the Department of Defense and Veterans Affairs, officials said.
