Baltimore Restaurant Among Top 10 New Eateries In US: Bon Appétit

BALTIMORE, MD — A Baltimore restaurant has made it onto the elite "Hot 10" list compiled by Bon Appétit. The annual list honors the best new eateries in the country.

Four Baltimore establishments were nominated and made it to the top 50, but one made the cut.

Le Comptoir du Vin at 1729 Maryland Avenue is one of America's best new restaurants for 2019, Bon Appétit announced Tuesday, Sept. 17.

The Hot 10 list was designed to recognize eateries that did not just serve up delicious food but also created a special dining experience.

The French bistro in Baltimore is "a place where you feel immediately welcomed," Bon Appétit's editors wrote. Steak tartare "that practically glistens" made the write-up, as did the "silkiest chicken liver pâté" and a waffle-like dessert topped with shaved foie gras that tastes like butter and maple syrup.

Le Comptoir du Vin means "the wine counter," and the restaurant has an ever-changing, handwritten menu.
