BARCS Is Out Of Space, Needs People To Adopt Animals Now
The Baltimore animal shelter had an influx of animals at one time and needs help accommodating them.
BALTIMORE, MD — A nonprofit animal shelter in Baltimore issued a plea for help Wednesday on its social media pages.
After receiving an influx of animals, Baltimore Animal Rescue & Care Shelter (BARCS) reported it was out of space.
"BARCS is in a desperate situation," the animal shelter posted on Facebook after noon on Wednesday, June 9. "We have taken in a lot of new animals in the last several days and are out of space. As an open-admission shelter, we take in every animal that comes to us in need."

The shelter posted the situations of nine dogs now housed at the facility, including one who was left outside in the heat, two whose owners died and other dogs who were lost or had been surrendered.
"Our facility only has so many cages, and a large influx of lost and surrendered animals quickly creates an urgent situation," officials said. "We need as many animals to leave with positive outcomes as we are taking in, otherwise, animals could be at risk."
