The bull was standing in a field near the Health and Human Services building at Coppin State in the 2500 block of North Avenue, according to WBAL.
After being in that area for about an hour, the animal was hit with a tranquilizer dart shot by Maryland Zoo personnel, who had been called to assist with the situation, WBAL reported.
By 6 p.m., WJZ reported the bull was tranquilized, and the animal was being loaded onto a tow truck. Its owner told the news station he was driving with the bull to Frederick when it escaped.

When bulls have escaped in the past few years in west Baltimore, it has generally been in June and July.
On June 13, two bulls were found on an apartment lawn in Penn North.
Bulls were discovered in the same area in July 2016 after escaping from the Old Line Meat Company on Monroe Street.
In June 2014, a steer jumped a fence from another Baltimore slaughterhouse and was fatally shot by police after trotting around near the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and the University of Baltimore.
