Fells Point Wall Collapse: 2 Rescued, Baltimore Firefighters Say

A technical rescue was required at a Baltimore construction site Tuesday, according to authorities.

BALTIMORE, MD — Two people were rescued from a partial building collapse in Fells Point, according to authorities.

Officials said the victims had been on the fourth floor of a building in the 2000 block of Aliceanna Street that was under construction part of the structure collapsed Tuesday afternoon.

Crews were called after 2:30 p.m. and helped two contractors out from under a "small amount of material," the Baltimore Fire Department reported.

One was brought down in a rescue basket, while the other was able to walk after the cinder block wall fell, the Baltimore Firefighters Union IAFF Local 734 said in a statement before 3:10 p.m.

Both were taken to area hospitals with injuries described non-threatening.
