GoFundMe Page Set Up For 7-Year-Old Gunshot Victim
A Baltimore girl is in critical condition after getting shot Thursday while sitting in a car. The driver has been arrested on gun charges.

BALTIMORE, MD — A 7-year-old girl was in critical condition in a Baltimore hospital Friday morning after suffering a gunshot wound while sitting in the back seat of a car, according to media reports. The girl, identified in media reports as Taylor Hayes, was rushed to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center following the shooting at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Southwest Baltimore, near Edmonson Avenue and Lyndhurst Street, WBAL-TV Channel 11 reported.
T.J. Smith, a Baltimore police spokesman, said Friday morning via Twitter that there was no change in Taylor's condition.
In a tweet, Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan said he is "praying for this little girl's recovery."

He added: "The individual who committed this despicable act of violence against this innocent child must be identified, arrested, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
Darnell Holmes, 33, the driver of the car Taylor was in, was arrested Friday on gun possession and drug charges. Police continue to ask the public to share any information that can lead investigators to the person who shot Taylor, and Holmes is reportedly not cooperating with police, the Baltimore Sun reports.

The Baltimore police were trying to determine whether Taylor was hit by a stray bullet of if the vehicle she was in was targeted, WBAL reported. Holmes reportedly had a handgun and drugs in her vehicle, police said.
"This is a7-year-old little girl in the back seat of a car, probably talking about Barbie dolls or something, and she's now in Shock Trauma fighting for her life. So whatever your differences are with whether it's police and the community, whatever. This is where we all come together, even if you're a bad guy," Smith said.
The police said another child was in the back seat of the vehicle at the time of the shooting, but was unharmed, WJZ-TV Channel 13 reported.
The Baltimore Police Department is asking anyone with information to call them at 410-396-2100 or text tips to 443-902-4824.
