MARYLAND — This weekend is guaranteed to be a scorcher, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasters are predicting temperatures in the mid-90s this weekend in the Baltimore-Washington area.

A high near 94 is expected Saturday, with mostly clear conditions and a west wind during the day near 9 mph keeping things from feeling any hotter.

Temps will peak between 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The low Saturday night will be about 70 degrees, according to the forecast.

Sunday brings similar conditions, with the high near 93 and a low around 71. A south wind of 5 to 7 mph is expected.

Temperatures should stay near 90 Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms increasing each day. The chance Monday is 30 percent and on Tuesday and Wednesday, there is a 60 percent chance of rain. Lows will be in the low 70s.
