Junior Achievement of Central Maryland Holds Virtual Summer Camp
Junior Achievement of Central Maryland to Hold Virtual Summer Camp for their Summer Entrepreneurship Program from July 13th-August 3rd.

Junior Achievement of Central Maryland Inc. (JA), a non-profit organization dedicated to educating young people to succeed in a rapidly changing economy, is holding a virtual summer camp for young entrepreneurial minded students to help them create businesses and forge meaningful connections.
The JA Company Virtual Program will work with 30 students from grades 9-12 and is designed to help them create their own business venture. The camp runs daily from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. from July 13th-August 3rd. Registration is open now. The JA Summer Virtual Program is only available to students who are residents of Baltimore City. All applications must be completed and turned in by July 5th.
“Our economy is built on the wits, intelligence and strength of entrepreneurs,” said Jennifer Bodensiek, President, Junior Achievement of Central Maryland. “The students who participate in the camp will learn valuable skills and will come away understanding what it takes to build a successful business. They are getting a head start in the work world and will take on challenges every entrepreneur faces.”
Student participants are organized into a “company” and will undergo every step in building and running a business. Corporate mentors and entrepreneur volunteers help students to create a product, raise capital, advertise, sell, and liquidate at the end of the program. Students are also elected to leadership positions and organized into different departments, so they become familiar with how businesses operate.
