BALTIMORE, MD — She's the one that loved you first, but mom is much more than that. She’s a friend, a teacher, a counselor, a shoulder to cry on — and maybe one of the toughest women you’ve ever met.
We asked Patch readers in more than 1,000 communities to tell us what their moms mean to them. Nearly 200 people responded, paying tribute not just to moms but sometimes to grandmas, sisters and daughters who deserve recognition for Mother’s Day 2021.

Mom and you mean the world to me! Family was everything to you and you always worked hard to make sure that we lived a happy life. You have always been a prayerful woman and you taught us that with God everything is possible. You disciplined us when we were wrong and now l look back l am grateful for that. Being an immigrant in a foreign country has not always been easy but every time I call you promise me your prayers and l believe that has been my source of strength. Thanks for raising my son as your own son...#bestgrandmaever#. Can't thank you enough for the sacrifices you have made in your life to see us succeed. May almighty God bless you with good health and long live! Happy mother's day!
