MLB Draft 2021: See Orioles Picks, Best Prospect In MD
The Orioles are eying young talent in this weekend's MLB draft. Here is when the O's pick. Plus, this is the best prospect in Maryland.

BALTIMORE, MD — Baltimore Orioles fans can get a glimpse of the team's future during this weekend's MLB Draft.
The O's have the No. 5 pick in the first round. They will pick 21 times in the 20 rounds set for Sunday through Tuesday in Denver.
The Pittsburgh Pirates will select first in the draft, followed by the Texas Rangers, Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles.

Marcelo Mayer, a shortstop from Eastlake High School in California, is rated as the No. 1 draft prospect by MLB.com. Jack Leiter, a pitcher from Vanderbilt University, and Jordan Lawlar, a shortstop from Jesuit College Prep in Texas, are the next highest-rated prospects.
Aside from the Orioles stocking up for the future, Maryland baseball fans may recognize the names of some players who will be selected from college and high school.

The draft’s top prospects are scattered across the country. In the Old Line State, Sean Burke is considered to be the best player available, according to MLB.com. The right-handed starting pitcher, who is originally from Massachusetts, posted a 2.97 ERA over two seasons with the University of Maryland Terrapins.
