New Daily COVID-19 Vaccination Record Set For Maryland

So far, a total of 2,358,677 COVID-19 doses have been administered to Marylanders.

MARYLAND — Vaccine providers in Maryland are averaging a new daily record with 45,855 COVID-19 shots given per day. Wednesday, providers administered 54,269 coronavirus vaccines. So far, a total of 2,358,677 doses have been administered, which is 87 percent of the vaccine supply.

According to the CDC, 27 percent of Maryland’s total population has received at least one shot, including 71.3 percent of Marylanders age 65 and older.

Currently, Maryland is in Phase 2A of its vaccine distribution plan, prioritizing all residents age 60 and older, as well as all Marylanders previously eligible in Phase 1. Phase 2B will begin March 30 and includes Marylanders age 16 and older with underlying medical conditions that increase their risk for severe COVID-19 illness, as well as Marylanders with disabilities.

Residents in the eligible populations are asked to pre-register online at covidvax.maryland.gov or by phone through the state's COVID-19 vaccination support center at 1-855-MD-GOVAX (1-855-634-6829). Individuals can pre-register on behalf of a senior citizen who wants a vaccine.
