Ravens Beat Titans, Advance In Playoffs After Wild-Card Round

NASHVILLE, TN — The Baltimore Ravens are headed to the divisional round of the NFL playoffs.

Ravens cornerback Marcus Peters intercepted a throw by Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill at the end of the fourth quarter Sunday, securing the Ravens' lead for a 20-13 win.

Here's a look at how the game played out:

• 1st quarter: The Ravens did not put any points on the board, while the Titans led by 10 points, with wide receiver A.J. Brown scoring a touchdown and kicker Stephen Gostkowski making a field goal.
• 2nd quarter: Ravens kicker Justin Tucker made a field goal and quarterback Lamar Jackson ran for a touchdown, so the score evened up 10-10 at the half.
• 3rd quarter: Ravens running back JK Dobbins scored a touchdown, pushing Baltimore ahead to 17-10. The Titans kicker snagged a field goal, tightening the score to 17-13.
• 4th quarter: Tucker kicked a 51-yard field goal for three points, bringing the score to 20-13.

Last year, the Titans beat the Ravens 28-12 in the AFC divisional round game.

Playoff Picture

The divisional rounds will be played next weekend.

Next, the Ravens will play the Buffalo Bills at 8:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at Bills Stadium.

New York is allowing 6,700 fans to attend as long as they have submitted a negative COVID-19 test result and adhere to social distancing.

Over the weekend, other wild card winners included the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (defeated Washington, 31-23); Los Angeles Rams (beat the Seattle Seahawks 30-20); and the Buffalo Bills (topped the Indianapolis Colts, 27-24), after Saturday's matchups.

On Sunday, the New Orleans Saints beat the Chicago Bears, 21-9, and the Cleveland Browns defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers, 48-37.

Mayors Make Playoff Wager

Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott and Nashville Mayor John Cooper made a friendly bet before the game.

Scott wagered Koco’s Pub crab cakes, Berger cookies, Made in BMore clothing, and Mount Royal Soap Co. hand sanitizer.

"I hope that this friendly wager will bring some much-needed lighthearted energy to both cities as we all continue to navigate these difficult times," Scott said in a statement earlier in the week, adding he was "looking forward to a Ravens victory against the Titans on Sunday."

Cooper wagered baked goods from D'Andrews Bakery, hot sauce and merchandise from 400 Degrees Hot Chicken, Batch Nashville merchandise, a t-shirt from Swett's Restaurant and a postcard from Hatch Show Print.
