Car Fire Clears, Delays Remain On I-83: Officials
Interstate 83 was snarled Tuesday morning in Baltimore due to a vehicle fire, officials said.

BALTIMORE, MD — A car fire brought part of Interstate 83 to a standstill Tuesday morning in Baltimore. Those headed south on I-83 were affected.
By 7:40 a.m., the vehicle fire had cleared but "severe delays" still exist, Baltimore City Department of Transportation officials reported.
Drivers should give themselves extra time to reach their destinations and use routes other than I-83 south if possible, authorities advised.

As officials responded to the incident earlier, traffic cameras showed backups at 7:15 a.m. from the 28th Street exit to past the Ruxton Road exit.
The car fire had cleared by 7:30 a.m., according to WBAL TV, which reported all lanes had reopened. Traffic remained congested in the area.
