Topgolf Coming To Baltimore
Groundbreaking soon for a 65,000-square-foot driving range/restaurant facility adjacent to the Horseshoe Casino and M&T Bank Stadium.
BALTIMORE, MD —Topgolf Entertainment group announced Thursday that it plans to break ground this spring on a new 65,000-square-foot driving range/restaurant facility/event space in Baltimore. The facility will be located at the intersection of Stockholm Street and Warner Street adjacent to the Horseshoe Casino and M&T Bank Stadium.
Scheduled to open in 2020, Topgolf Baltimore will feature 90 outdoor hitting bays on three different levels, a full-service restaurant and bar, space for corporate and social events and a skylight atrium, according to a release. There will year-round programming for all ages.
"We're thrilled to kick off the development of Topgolf Baltimore and look forward to unveiling this state-of-the-art venue in the fall of 2022," said Chris Callaway, Topgolf's chief development officer. "This exciting development will not only allow us to entertain the community, but also further revitalize South Baltimore by serving as an anchor in Charm City's next great entertainment district."

This will be the third Topgolf in Maryland after Germantown and National Harbor. Topgolf estimates its economic output at the six-acre Baltimore location will exceed $264.5 million over a 10-year period. The facility is expected to create 500 full-time and part-time jobs, while helping with the continued development of the Southern Gateway Entertainment District.
"The addition of Topgolf to the Warner Street corridor will provide more job opportunities for Baltimore City residents, broaden the city's tax base and serve as another source of entertainment for families around the area," Baltimore City Mayor Brandon Scott said. "This is an exciting moment for Baltimore, and I look forward to the project's formal groundbreaking later this spring."

According to the release, the development of the Topgolf site comes from a partnership between the City of Baltimore, the Baltimore Development Corporation (BDC) and Horseshoe Baltimore's ownership group.
The parcel where Topgolf will be located was previously occupied by the Baltimore Animal Rescue Care Shelter (BARCS). But BARCS was relocated last year to a new, larger and more modern Baltimore City Animal Services facility in the Cherry Hill neighborhood.
"This landmark project has already delivered considerable value to the city and laid the foundation for future development in the Southern Gateway," said Colin Tarbert, the BDC's president and CEO. "I’m proud of the partnership we have established with Topgolf and our ability to collaborate on an innovative development agreement that benefits the company, the city and local taxpayers."
