Voting In Baltimore: Everything To Know At The Polls

Before casting your ballot on Election Day in Baltimore, find out the best time to go and what's on the ballot.

BALTIMORE, MD — Voters in Baltimore have options on Election Day, whether casting their ballots in person, through a ballot drop box or by mail. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

The best time to vote in person on Election Day is between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., according to the Maryland Board of Elections.

Voters will be required to stand 6 feet apart, and the number of people inside voting centers will be capped, which may result in lines and wait times, according to election officials.

Baltimore residents who are eligible to vote but not yet registered can register in person on Election Day.

Other Ways To Vote: Drop Box, Mail-In Ballot

Multiple secure ballot drop boxes under 24/7 surveillance have been placed around Baltimore.

Those who want to vote without visiting a polling place can put their ballots in a Baltimore ballot drop box until 8 p.m. on Nov. 3.

Ballots can be put in a drop box or mailed. If mailed, they must be postmarked on or before Nov. 3. Mailed ballots must be received by the local board of elections by 10 a.m. on Nov. 13.

The Baltimore Board of Elections reminds voters mailing in their ballots to sign them first.

What Is On The Ballot?

People will be asked to vote on candidates for President of the United States, U.S. Representative, Baltimore mayor, Baltimore City Council president and council district representatives.

There are also 11 referendum issues in Baltimore, including bond and charter amendments, and two statewide ballot questions.
