Winter Weather Advisory Replaces Winter Storm Warning

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for Baltimore effective Sunday.

BALTIMORE, MD — A winter weather advisory is in effect until noon Sunday for parts of central Maryland, including Baltimore City.

This replaces the winter storm warning that forecaster issued Saturday, in anticipation of 3 to 6 inches of snow.

Here is the timeline, according to the National Weather Service:

  • 5 to 7 a.m. — Snow will start.
  • 8:30 a.m. a.m. to noon — Another 1 to 3 inches of snow could fall.

Due to icy and slippery conditions, people should watch their first few steps outside on stairs, driveways and sidewalks.

If people must drive during the winter weather advisory period, they should keep an extra flashlight as well as food and water in their vehicles.
