$10K Memorial Donation Given To BCPS Education Foundation

The donation was awarded in memoriam of Ross Mackesey, former president of the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — The Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors Charitable Foundation, Inc., has made a $10,000 donation to The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools in memoriam of Ross Mackesey, former president of the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors and chair of the BCPS Ethics Review Panel.

The $10,000 donation has been designated to the foundation's RISE (Relief in Securing Education) for a Brighter Future campaign, supporting the foundation's collaborative educator resource center, the Exchangeree: Gizmos and Gadgets Galore, which provides academic, therapeutic and social-emotional supplies and resources to BCPS educators from two locations (Windsor Mill and The Avenue at White Marsh). Educators then distribute these supplies to the students most in need.

“Mr. Mackesey was both a prominent realtor and a dedicated supporter of public education in Baltimore County,” Deborah Phelps, executive director of The Education Foundation, said in a news release. “This generous gift from the GBBR Charitable Foundation is a thoughtful commemoration of his legacy and it will help support quality education and student well-being across Baltimore County.”
