Adorable Adoptable Pets Of The Week For Baltimore County
These sweet pets and others are searching for their forever homes. They currently are at Baltimore County Animal Services.

BALTIMORE COUNTY — Meet Patch's Adorable Adoptable Pets of the Week available through the Humane Rescue Alliance. Adorable 1-year-old tuxedo cat Hibiscut (#3887) and gorgeous 3-year-old brown tabby Tuppa (#4306) have made quite the impression on the shelter staff and volunteers since they arrived at BCAS as strays.
Little is known about what life had in store for Hibiscut and Tuppa before being brought to the shelter, but there is no denying that their loving personalities have fully blossomed while there. These ladies may not have known each other prior to coming to the shelter, but they both have something in common. Both of these cats at FIV+.
Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, or FIV, compromises the immune system of the infected cat. While cats that are carriers of or infected with FIV can still go on to live long, healthy lives, it is important to very closely monitor an FIV+ cat’s health and be sure to keep up on their yearly vet visits as the may be more susceptible to getting sick more frequently than non-affected cats. FIV can only be transmitted from cat to cat through penetrating bite wounds, so FIV+ cats can coexist with other cats without a high risk of transmission.

While some adopters may be scared off by FIV, their diagnosis doesn’t define them and both of these ladies will go on to make two families very happy.
