BGE Will Complete Gas Pipeline Upgrades by August
Work is currently being done on residential streets in Old Catonsville.

If you've seen work crews on roads around Old Catonsville recently digging holes and laying pipe, chances are they're from BGE.
The company is improving its natural gas infrastructure and has identified communities throughout the state that need upgrades.
According to BGE, there are 24 pipe ugrade projects in the region. BGE completed one phase of upgrades in Catonsville in the Oak Forest area last summer.

The second phase in Catonsville started in February and is expected to be completed by the end of August. In the last month, crews have worked on Edmondson Avenue by Dutton Avenue and are currently working on Rosewood and Beaumont avenues in Old Catonsville.
Some of the gas mains being replaced in Catonsville are more than 90 years old.

The work involves crews drilling into the pipes below the roads to replace them, installing a high pressure system compatible with modern gas appliances and upgrading meters at homes in the affected area.
