Updated: New Entries in Chair Contest

(Updated June 26) Another entry has been added to the Show Us Your Chair contest gallery.

Fetish Tanning and Beauty Boutique has created a 'cheetah chair.'

Online voting ends at midnight on July 1.

(Original story) If you'd like to use your creative talents to poke fun at the time-honored tradition of leaving chairs out on Frederick Road before the Fourth of July parade, then this contest may be for you.

The Catonsville Celebrations Committee, along with Strategic Victory Consulting, created a contest last year that celebrated the tradition. Anyone can create a 'chair,' and enter it in the contest to win a spot in the parade.

The chair that raises the most money through online voting wins a spot in the parade, as well as a $200 prize package and VIP seating along the parade route.

So far there are three entries in this year's contest, including a chair made out of recycled materials, a super soaker chair and the that has made an appearance at the parade before.

The number of votes is unlimited per entry. The chairs will also be on display at Frederick Road Fridays, where you can also donate. Winners will be announced on July 2.
