CCBC Changes All Building Names

The names of buildings on CCBC's main campuses changes Monday to names that reflect the buildings' purpose and function.

The Community College of Baltimore County's new naming system takes effect Monday for all buildings on its main campuses in Catonsville, Essex and Dundalk.

The new system replaces the names of its former A-Z letter system with names that "better reflect the purpose and function of each building (e.g., Student Services Building)," according to the CCBC website.

One of the ways to unite the three colleges was to have universal names with the letter names used on all three campuses, but the letter system has caused confusion, CCBC president Dr. Sandra Kurtinitis told The Dundalk Eagle.

The building renaming project has been in the works for several years, CCBC officials told CCBC Connection.
