On Tuesday, February 10, WEICHERT, REALTORS® - Caton Properties held a very special ceremony to honor the company’s founder. Victor Lancelotta, 93 years young and Chairman Emeritus at the firm, was present at the unveiling of the beautifully etched door to the Victor J. Lancelotta Conference Room, named in his honor. In attendance were the all the agents, the Iampieri family, Mrs. Lancelotta and Victor’s daughter and her husband, Victoria and Steve Conti.
“WEICHERT, REALTORS® - Caton Properties is an organization of people, not bricks and mortar. Our sales associates, management team and their families all make up a lively and vibrant group of people. We’ve all, collectively, committed ourselves to a vocation of service, which is a tradition Victor started over 75 years ago,” said Manager Dan Iampieri. “With this dedication, we’re not only honoring him but the enduring and service-oriented company he created.”
A History of the Company. Mr. Lancelotta founded The Caton Realty Company in 1939, with the first office located in downtown Baltimore. The name was selected because of the desire to sell real estate in Catonsville. In the early 70’s a branch office was opened in Catonsville, bringing the company to its namesake town 35 years after it was founded. In 1975 Lancelotta appointed Bill Iampieri as Sales Manager and the company soon opened a third office in Mt. Airy.

The Caton Realty Company acquired an ERA franchise in 1984 and became known as ERA Caton Realty. During that time the company expanded to over 100 agents with the addition of the National Relocation business.
In 1990 Lancelotta sold Caton Realty to Bill Iampieri, the second and current owner of the company. From 2000 to 2007 Caton Realty was an independent firm until they partnered with Weichert Real Estate Affiliates, Inc. The last move for the firm came in 2012 when Bill and Karen Iampieri purchased property at 10169 Baltimore National Pike and renovated it into the current visible, modern and well-located office serving Howard and surrounding counties. Dan Iampieri, Bill’s son, was appointed Sales Manager in 2013 and has been overseeing sales, training and company growth — continuing the legacy started by Mr. Lancelotta 75 years ago.
