Juveniles Charged in Bike Thefts

Two juveniles face burglary charges after arrests linked to Oct. 19 thefts.

Two juveniles were charged with burglary after a series of bicycle thefts on Oct. 19, according to police reports.

Baltimore County Police do not routinely release the names of juveniles charged with crimes.

At around 4:13 p.m. on Oct. 19, the suspects removed a mountain bike from the front porch of a residence on the unit block of Briarwood Rd., according to a report.

A witness to the crime chased the suspects, who left the bike at the end of the street, the report said. The bike was returned to its owner, according to the report.

At 5:19 p.m., the juveniles were observed taking a mountain bike from a fenced-in yard on the 6000 block of Mount Ridge Rd, the report said.

Between 5:20-5:28 p.m., the suspects were seen by a neighbor taking a mountain bike from another residence on the 6000 block of Mount Ridge Rd., according to a police report.

Both juveniles were apprehended by police in possession of the bikes, and identified by witnesses as the suspects in the thefts, police reports said.

The bicycles taken from the residences on Mount Ridge Rd. were returned to their owners, and the suspects were charged with multiple counts of fourth-degree burglary, according to police reports.
