Three Lanes Closed On I-695 For Vehicle Fire: SHA

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — There are major backups on the inner loop of Interstate 695 Friday morning between US 40 and I-70. A vehicle fire was reported in that area before 9:30 a.m., leading to the closure of three lanes.

Traffic was getting by in the left lane only as of 9:45 a.m, and after 10 a.m., the State Highway Administration (SHA) urged drivers to take alternate routes.

There was congestion on I-695 between MD 144/Frederick Road and I-70 on the inner loop.
