A letter from Congressman Elijah Cumming spurred action from the U.S. Postal Service to clean up the grounds.

Three new trees have been planted at the Post Office on Frederick Road in Catonsville after residents complained about the upkeep of the grounds to Rep. Elijah Cummings.

The trees were planted roughly two weeks ago and flowers also were planted.

Cummings' office wrote a letter to Postal Service District Manager Kevin McAdams.

"Within two weeks of writing the letter, the Post Office’s grass was cut, and has been cut regularly since that time. The hedges were trimmed, and the grounds were enhanced with the planting of trees and flowers," Simmons wrote in an email.
