Anti-Masker Refuses Face Covering; Assaults Workers: Report

EDGEWATER, MD — Police said two maskless customers entered the Edgewater Cold Stone Creamery Saturday evening. The ice cream shop workers told the man and woman to mask up, but they refused, an incident report noted.

After a brief argument, the man assaulted both employees, officers added. According to the writeup, the duo drove away in a Silver Nissan Altima before police arrived. The car's tag number is unknown.

Officers heard word of the incident around 7:20 p.m. They came to the store, located at 15 Lee Airpark Drive, but could not find the suspects.

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department checked both staffers for injuries. Medics took one worker to an unnamed hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department is investigating the incident. Detectives ask anybody with information to call (410) 222-1960. Tipsters can remain anonymous by calling (410) 222-4700.
