Advanced Placement (AP) courses help students acquire skills and habits needed to be successful in college. Students can improve writing skills, sharpen problem-solving abilities, and develope time management, discipline, and study habits. More than 90 percent of four-year colleges in the United States and colleges in more than 60 other countries give students credit, advanced placement, or both, on the basis of AP Exam scores.

2021 Exam Discounts:

  • single student taking 4 or more exams – $30 discount on entire AP order
  • family with 2 or more students taking a total of 4 or more exams – $30 discount, applied to eldest student
  • AVID student taking 1 exam – $25 discount
  • AVID student taking 2 or more exams – $50 discount (may be applied along with multi-test discount)
  • Exam Fee Exemption/Reduction – for students who qualify for the Free/Reduced Meals program (application/acceptance to FRM program required)

AP Program Registration & Payment Process

  1. Create a College Board account – go to Collegeboard.org to get started, or log-in to your current College Board account. Take a screen shot for your teacher(s) to confirm account access.
  2. Record your AP number and keep it in a safe and accessible place. This number is required for all AP tests and links you to your score reports.
  3. Request a JOIN code for each AP course you are enrolled in from the class teachers. Change your exam order from “Undecided” to “Yes” to take the test, or to “No” to skip testing, to gain access to assessments and resources.
  4. Commit to taking AP Exams by October 28, 2020, through your College Board account. If you decide to take the AP test after November 1, 2020, there is a non-refundable $40 late registration fee imposed by College Board.
  5. Deadline to pay for AP Exams is October 30, 2020.
    1. Log into, or create an account for, FamilyID.com to complete the online registration for the 2021 AP Exams.
    2. Go to Online School Payments (OSP). Enter in the amount due for AP Exam fees, then continue on to submit payment. Payment in cash, check or money order (payable to SRHS) is also accepted, by appointment, in the school office, to Mrs. Eutsler, Principal’s Secretary, before November 1, 2020.
  6. To request accommodations for testing (students with an IEP or 504 Plan): Parents must submit a Consent Form for Accommodation Request before January 4, 2021.
  7. Computer Science Principles and AP Capstone: AP Digital Portfolios for Computer Science Principles & AP Capstone are due April 30, 2021. Computer Science Principles also has an exam on May 13.
  8. Confirm Exam date(s) with the AP teacher(s).
