Brothers Osborne Thank Truckers With Free Concert (ICYMI)

DEALE, MD — CMA winners and Maryland natives the Brothers Osborne played a free concert Tuesday at a Nevada truck stop to say thanks to drivers during the busy holiday season. To honor their hard work and surprise truckers crossing the California-Nevada border outside of Las Vegas, Verizon Telematics hosted a pop-up event at the Whiskey Pete's Truck Stop in Primm, Nevada, featuring a free holiday meal and a concert from the Grammy-nominated country duo from Deale.

Dec. 18 marked the day most truckers made the switch from paper to electronic logs to track their federally mandated Hours of Service, said sponsor Verizon in a news release. To help with that changeover on the road, the carrier worked with John and TJ Osborne to stage the event.

"Being out on the road and away from your family – especially at this time of year– can be really hard, so we wanted to show our appreciation in a fun and unexpected way," said Jay Jaffin, chief marketing officer at Verizon Telematics, in the release.

The musicians performed the recently Grammy-nominated "It Ain't My Fault," and "Stay a Little Longer," along with other songs.

"We're proud to partner with Verizon Telematics to celebrate truck drivers and the people who serve every day," the brothers said.

The brothers won two awards in April at the 2017 Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas. The Anne Arundel County natives, who now call Nashville home, won awards for best Vocal Duo and New Vocal Duo or Group. Brothers Osborne performed their single, "It Ain't My Fault," at the awards show. The song appears on their debut studio album, Pawn Shop.

"We want to thank our fans so much," John Osborne said of their New Vocal Duo award, reports TheBoot.com. "We never get to thank our fans. You guys keep showing up — If you guys keep showing up, we'll keep showing up forever. We will never ever take this for granted."

Pawn Shop helped the brothers win the Vocal Duo of the Year at the 2016 CMA Awards and took home this year's ACM for New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year before the show even started. The pair last year were nominated for "Best Country Duo/Group Performance" for their single "21 Summer;" they were nominated last year with the single "Stay a Little Longer."

The siblings got their start in all-night jam sessions in their house, playing Bob Seger, Hank Williams, Tom Petty and George Jones. The Brothers Osborne criss-crossed the country in 2017 on their Dirt Rich tour.
