RIVA, MD — Anne Arundel County police arrested a Riva man on Monday, charging him with 10 counts of possessing child pornography. All 10 charges are misdemeanors. The accused man, Douglas Steven Dillner, is 67.

The investigation started on April 17 when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children offered county police a tip. The organization, which aims to reduce child sexual exploitation, told police that Dillner uploaded child pornographic images online, according to a police report.

The Anne Arundel County Department obtained a search warrant and seized "numerous digital devices" from Dillner's home in the 3100 block of Shrewsbury Lane. Dillner was at the home when police executed the warrant.

Police say they found child pornography on the devices. After securing an arrest warrant, police took Dillner into custody without incident.

Dillner, who is represented by a private attorney, was released recognizance. His case does not yet have a trial date.
