Davidsonville Business Receives Excellence Award

Homestead Gardens is receiving the Anne Arundel County Cornerstone Award for Local Business Excellence from Comptroller Franchot Sept. 9.

DAVIDSONVILLE, MD — Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot will be in Davidsonville Monday, Sept. 9, to present the Anne Arundel County Cornerstone Award for Local Business Excellence to Homestead Gardens.

Second-generation owner Brian Riddle will accept the award on behalf of the family-owned and operated business that opened in 1973. Homestead Gardens is the largest enclosed garden center in the Baltimore-Washington, D.C., metropolitan region and is heavily involved in the community, supporting youth agricultural programs like 4-H and FFA, as well as numerous other nonprofit organizations, schools and local sustainability initiatives, like the South River Restoration Project.
