Dogs Invited To Special Event Hosted By SPCA Of Anne Arundel Co.

From a beachwear parade to a pie eating contest, dogs will have a blast at the 8th Annual Puppy Plunge at Camp Letts in Edgewater Aug. 18.

EDGEWATER, MD — Dog lovers are encouraged to take their pups out for a day of fun and fundraising at the 8th Annual Puppy Plunge planned for Sunday, Aug. 18. The event is being organized by the SPCA of Anne Arundel County and benefits the shelter.

Dogs are invited to romp along the beach and frolic in the water. They also can don their best swimwear for a special muscle beach doggie swimwear parade and there will be a canine pie-eating contest. Humans can enjoy vendors, food trucks and a dog wash to hose off sand-covered pups before they head home.

The event will be held at Camp Letts from noon to 3 p.m. Camp Letts is located at 4003 Camp Letts Rd. All dogs and children age 12 and younger are free. Be sure that all dogs are secured with a non-retractable leash. Be sure to buy tickets in advance. The event will be held rain or shine.
