Edgewater Cars Robbed Overnight, Police Caution Residents

EDGEWATER, MD — A thief broke into six cars overnight in Edgewater, police say. The unknown person rummaged through belongings, taking anything of value. Police believe the same person committed all six crimes.

The string of thefts happened sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Homes in the unit and 100 blocks of Brick Church Road were affected, as were residences in the 300 block of West Central Avenue. Here is a map of the where the crimes happened.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department reminds residents to look their car doors and bring valuables inside. If you must keep items inside your car, police suggest storing them in the trunk.

"Keep it out of view so it's not a temptation for a would-be criminal," said Marc Limansky, a department spokesperson.

Police are investigating the incidents. They do not yet have any information on a suspect. The department plans to meet with local homeowners, hoping to learn more about the thief and potentially find a video of the intrusions.
