Family Frantically Searching For Missing Dog From Mayo
David Cook's precious dog Fancy went missing New Year's Eve. Because she's skittish, he asks that no one approach her but report sightings.

MAYO, MD — An incredibly sweet but skittish beagle-border collie mix has been wandering around the area, lost and frightened, for more than two weeks. Fancy, who is two years old, will celebrate her third birthday Feb. 2 and her family just wants her home.
David Cook told Patch that Fancy was being babysat by his son New Year's Eve while he was out of town and that's when she got loose.
"There were a lot of fireworks going off, which scares her, and she got out the door. She's been gone since Jan. 1. We really miss her. We've had her since she was a puppy," said Cook.

The American Humane Association estimates more than 10 million dogs and cats are lost or stolen in the U.S. every year and one in three pets will become lost at some point during their life. Fancy currently has on a light green-colored collar with a county license tag, a rabies shot tag, her name and a phone number tag.
"She is skittish around strangers," Cook advised.

For that reason, Cook asks that people do not approach her, but offer her food and water from a distance and call him immediately at 240-691-8965 to report seeing her. There is a reward being offered if information results in her being brought back home.
