Firehouse Santa To Visit Edgewater Kids Dec. 8
Breakfast with Santa will be Dec. 7 followed by the Firehouse Santa traveling brigade Dec. 8 in Edgewater.
EDGEWATER, MD — In neighborhoods across Edgewater Dec. 8, Santa will be coming to families' houses to visit children, take photos and pick up donations of new, wrapped toys. The event, called Firehouse Santa, takes a twist on the time-honored tradition where Santa rides into town on a firetruck.
There are four routes winding through Edgewater where Santa will hand out candy canes and greet kids. The toy donations he hopes to pick up should be labeled with the age and gender for whom the toy is intended, explained Laura Gray, public information office for the Woodland Beach Volunteer Fire Department.
Donated gifts will be picked up from the firehouse by the Anne Arundel County Food Bank to be distributed within our county. Donations of winter coats and canned food items also will be accepted. From 5 to 8 p.m., Santa and his elves also will be gathering up new backpacks, clothes, pajamas and age-appropriate activities as part of The Blue Ribbon Project.
