EDGEWATER, MD — Gregory Joseph Nida, "Greg," a 39-year resident of Edgewater and previously of Ferndale, MD, died on Sunday, November 13, 2016. He was 66.
He was born January 9, 1950, in Houtzdale, PA, to Harry Nida of Merritt Island, FL, and the late Maria (Murawski) Nida. Greg retired from the Central Intelligence Agency following a 32-year career. He then owned and operated the engineering company 3NSI for 13 years.
Greg enjoyed cars, going to casinos, race horses, hunting and fishing, Orioles baseball and Steelers football. He started the South River Junior Wrestling program and was a coach for four years at South River High School from 1989-92. Greg was also a longtime wrestling coach for the Mayo Athletic Association.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy Nida; a son, Gregory Nida Jr. of Orlando, FL; three siblings, John Nida of Merritt Island, FL, Judy Custred of Tyrone, PA and Neal Nida of Daleville, VA; two nieces; six nephews; and four great-nieces.
Friends may call at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Saturday, November 19 from 2 to 5 pm. Interment is private.
