Gun Flashed At Highway Worker In South County: Police

Police said a driver flashed a gun while yelling at a highway worker in Lothian.

LOTHIAN, MD — Police said a driver flashed a gun while yelling at a highway worker in Lothian last Thursday. Officers noted that the adult male suspect never pointed the weapon at the Maryland State Highway Administration employee, but it was clearly visible.

An incident report added that the encounter happened around 9:41 a.m. on northbound Maryland Route 4 at Southern Maryland Boulevard. The victim was blocking the fast lane with his yellow work truck and illuminated merge right sign while three other staffers picked up litter in front of the car, the write-up advised.

Police explained that a man pulled up in a black pickup truck. He threatened the highway worker and yelled at him to get off the road, officers indicated.
