Lothian Man Badly Injured In Route 2 Crash: Police
A 23-year-old man was seriously injured early Friday when his BMW struck a utility pole in Harwood, say Anne Arundel police.

HARWOOD, MD — A Lothian man is being treated for serious injuries after he crashed his car into a utility pole early Friday, Dec. 21, on Solomons Island Road (Route 2), say the Anne Arundel County police. Jacob Jasper Greene, 23, was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, the police said.
At 12:41 a.m. Friday, officers responded to a single-vehicle crash reported on northbound Solomons Island Road just north of Harwood Road in Harwood.
A preliminary investigation showed that Greene was driving a 2005 BMW 330ci when he lost control for an unknown reason and struck a BGE pole, according to a police report.

The police said that "speed and alcohol may have contributed to the crash," and the department's Traffic Safety Section is assisting its Southern District with the crash investigation.
The case will be reviewed by the office of Anne Arundel State's Attorney Wes Adams, the police said.
