LOTHIAN, MD — Police said a male was shot early Sunday morning at a "residential gathering" in Lothian. The report came from the 5800 block of Independent Lane around 2:50 a.m.

Medics took the victim to an unnamed hospital, an incident report said. The write-up clarified that the male's lower-body gunshot wounds are not life-threatening. Officers did not state the victim's age.

Police informed that they searched the area and found several bullet holes in a vehicle and the siding of the home. Investigators believe the shooting happened as the gathering was ending.
