May the Cutest Kid Win: Library Hosts Video Contest

The county library system wants to know what makes libraries special for your children.

Does your kid have enthusiasm for local libraries? Show it on video and they could win season passes for the family to Six Flags.

Expanded hours are coming to libraries across Anne Arundel County, and to help promote that, the county is hosting a special video contest for kids.

"Parents with children aged five years or younger are asked to record their kids explaining, in one minute or less, why the library is important to them," according to a press release sent by the library system.

The grand prize is four 2014 season passes to Six Flags America, and runners up will take home either four tickets to Medieval Times at Arundel Mills or box seat tickets to the Bowie Baysox next season.

Parents should record the video and email it to aacplcontest@gmail.com. The body of the email should include the name of the parents and the child in the video, as well as their street address and phone number in case they are chosen as a winner.

Starting Jan. 26, all 15 county libraries  will have a unified schedule and expanded hours. The change includes new, morning hours for 10 branches and expanded programs across the system.
