Public Invited To Plan2040 Meeting Held In Edgewater June 18

County P&A officials have been hosting open houses across the county to gather input for Anne Arundel County's Plan2040.

EDGEWATER, MD --The Anne Arundel County Office of Planning and Zoning has been hosting open houses across the county to engage participants and gather input to help create the visionary Plan2040. The open house in Edgewater will be June 18 at South River High School beginning at 5 p.m.

During the open house, participants will review the recommendations from the small area plan and the 2009 general development plan that were not implemented and prioritize which recommendations remain valid and should be carried forward in Plan2040 or community plans in the near future. Participants also will have the chance to share their own personal vision for the future. Residents also will be able to review community boundaries. The county has more than 40 distinct communities.

Individuals who cannot attend the local meeting in person can instead complete a series of three online surveys mirroring the open house activities. They will remain open for three weeks after the date of the visioning meeting. The audience-style open comment session of each visioning meeting will be recorded and uploaded to the Anne Arundel County YouTube channel, too.
