Man Runs Red Light, Kills Woman In South County Car Crash: Police
An Anne Arundel woman died in a south county car crash on Thursday, police say. They claim she was struck by a driver who ran a red light.

GALESVILLE, MD — A woman died in a Thursday morning car crash after an oncoming driver ran a red light in Galesville, the Anne Arundel County Police Department says. Officers identified the victim as 60-year-old Elisabeth Gates Feldt of West River.
An incident report claims that Feldt was struck by a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Jeep was driven by 25-year-old Nathaniel Boddie Garrett of Churchton, police say. According to the writeup, the Jeep was heading south on Muddy Creek Road, approaching a steady red light at its intersection with Owensville Road.
A police report notes that Feldt was heading east on Owensville Road in her silver 2014 Ford Fusion when she approached a green traffic signal. Officers allege that the collision happened as she made her legal left turn onto the northbound Muddy Creek Road.

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department pronounced Feldt dead on the scene shortly after the 11 a.m. crash.
Police await the results of Feldt's autopsy. Drugs and alcohol do not seem to be a factor, they say. Officers believe the preliminary cause of the accident was Garrett's failure to obey a red signal. Traffic police are still investigating the wreck.
