South County Motorcyclist Dies In Alcohol-Related Crash: Police

An Anne Arundel County man fatally crashed his motorcycle in Owings, Calvert County police say. Officers believe alcohol was involved.

OWINGS, MD — An Anne Arundel County Man died in a motorcycle crash on Sunday, Calvert County police say. According to an incident report, the single-vehicle crash happened around 8:45 p.m., just over the county line in Owings.

Police identified the victim as Friendship man Paul Nicholas Conner Jr. He was 45.

The report says Conner was riding his 2001 Harley Davidson west on Chesapeake Beach Road. As he approached the intersection with Mt. Harmony Road, he left the roadway and struck a guardrail, police allege.

Medics pronounced Conner dead on the scene, according to the report. The Calvert County Sheriff's Office claims alcohol, speeding and driver error contributed to the fatal collision.
