SPCA of Anne Arundel County Announces Annual 'Puppy Plunge'

The fifth, annual Puppy Plunge event takes place Sunday, Aug. 21 at Camp Letts from noon to 3 p.m.

The SPCA of Anne Arundel County invites the public to be part of its fifth, annual Puppy Plunge event on Sunday, Aug. 21 at Camp Letts in Edgewater from noon to 3 p.m. Last year, more than 1,300 pet lovers enjoyed this dog-friendly fundraiser that supports the SPCA and the more than 2,500 homeless animals the organization cares for each year.

There will be vendors, music, food and a children's area. Big dogs will love to plunge on Muscle Beach, and small dogs can splash on the Petite Beach. The group “plunge” will take place at 12:30 p.m.

By popular demand, the dog bikini parade will be followed by the puppy pie-eating contest for dogs big and small.

With an $8 admittance fee for adults and no charge for dogs and children age 10 and younger, this event is fun for the entire family. For more information, email PuppyPlunge@acspca.org.
