SPCA Puppy Plunge Returns to Edgewater
This annual event is expected to attract more than 1,400 pet lovers and hundreds of dogs of all sizes.

Here's your chance to see a Bulldog in a bikini or a Pekingese chow down on a pie at the 5th annual Puppy Plunge, a fundraiser to benefit the SPCA of Anne Arundel County this Sunday, August 21 from noon to three, at Camp Letts in Edgewater, MD.
This family friendly event includes a DJ, food trucks and vendors with merchandise and giveaways throughout the event.

The larger dogs can swim at Muscle Beach while the smaller dogs can jump into the water at the Petite Beach. After cooling off in the water, the dogs can strut their stuff in the dog bikini parade. The dog pie eating contest features healthy pet treats any dog is sure to enjoy.

"The Puppy Plunge is one of my favorite events,” said Kelly Brown, President of the SPCA's Board of Directors. "Seeing how much fun the dogs have is really the highlight of the day. By being a part of this event, you will support the SPCA as we care for thousands of homeless animals each year."
The price is right; admission is only $8.00 per person, with dogs and kids under 10 admitted for free.
The SPCA of Anne Arundel County is located at 1815 Bay Ridge Avenue in Annapolis, and had a record setting 2,156 adoptions in 2015. Last year's accomplishments did not stop at simply finding so many loving homes for the shelter's animals.
Volunteers donated more than 21,732 hours of service to provide loving attention to the animals, as well as promoting the shelter and its available animals. The SPCA's affordable Spay and Neuter Clinic was able to perform vital spay and neuter services for 1,301 cats, 1,128 dogs and 35 rabbits. By giving out 15,780 pounds and 4,167 cans of pet food, the Pet Food Bank was able to assist families in financial need provide nutritious food to their beloved pets. With 530 animals in foster care, the SPCA is able to offer loving homes to pregnant mothers and very young puppies and kittens until they are ready for adoption.
