Calling all Snohawks!!

This year’s Cool Schools Plunge will be taking place but will be totally virtual this time and we need your help! ALL students and staff are invited to participate!

To join the Snohawks Plunge Team, sign up following the directions provided below. All participants are required to raise a minimum of $50 for Special Olympics Maryland. “Plungers” who raise the minimum will be mailed a special 25th Anniversary Polar Bear Plunge sweatshirt.

All who partake in the “plunge” should choose a version that they feel comfortable doing…

1. Similar to the ice bucket challenge, dump a bucket of cold water on your head. This is a great way to get the family involved and have them throw the cold water on you!! Your kids/spouse/roommate/friends would LOVE to do that!
2. Run around in a sprinkler in Frigid Friday! I know most people turn off their outside water, but we’ve had some mild plunge days in the past, so you could turn it back on for one day!
3. Fill up a baby pool with water and ice and have a nice soak…that is what Ms Kokosko will be doing!

There will be no spot checks to verify that participants actually did any of these options, but the point of such antics is to entice potential donors. You can even make it your own crazy plunge! Just be sure to do it in South River gear and tag our school’s Twitter (@SRSeahawksAACPS) and #SRSnohawks!

This is the year to make it your own!

We need all the support we can get! This is a great way to get involved, support our community, and connect with other students. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to mkokosko@aacps.org with ANY questions.

1. go to plungemd.com
2. scroll down to “Cool Schools” Virtual Only (look for the school bus icon) and click “Register”
3. How would you like to register? Click “Join a Team”
4. Scroll to “South River Snohawks”
5. If you would like to make your $50 donation right then and there, click “Pay to Plunge” or if you would like to “Fundraise to plunge,” select that and click the large red button on the right that says “PLUNGE!”
6. Follow the prompts to complete your registration. You will get your own personal link that you can post to your social media, send out in an email, etc.

Make sure you enter the correct home address — this is where your sweatshirt will be mailed to!

The Cool Schools Plunge brings together students from all over Maryland to show off both their school spirit and their support of the thousands of Special Olympics Maryland athletes who will benefit from the event. Sign up for your share of the fun today!
