ANNAPOLIS, MD — What Anne Arundel County services are closed Nov. 10 for Veterans Day, and when are services to mark the holiday? Two weekend ceremonies are planned by the Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs on Saturday, November 11, in the county:

10:00 a.m. Saturday

  • World War II Memorial- Route 450 at Naval Academy Bridge, 1920 Ritchie Highway, Annapolis

11:00 a.m. Saturday

  • Crownsville Veterans Cemetery – 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville

Also, the annual Veterans Day ceremony, hosted by the Fleet Reserve Association, will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, on Memorial Circle at City Dock in Annapolis. The United States Naval Academy Band will start at 10:45 a.m. with a short parade around Memorial Circle as part of the ceremony. All veterans are invited.

Annapolis government offices will be closed on Friday, Nov. 10, in observance of Veterans Day. Annapolis Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule. Recycling and refuse will be not affected.

Anne Arundel County Closings:

  • All county offices and senior centers are closed on Friday, Nov. 10.
  • There is a two-hour early dismissal for all Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Schools are closed for afternoon pre- and ECI.
  • Recycling & Landfill Centers are closed. No collection changes.
