Help Plant a Bay-Friendly Garden

Free workshop and hands-on gardening experience on May 28. Hosted by the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy's Clear Creeks Project.

Learn how to create a beautiful garden that can help preserve local waterways.

When: Saturday May 28, 10 am - 2pm

Who: Open to the general public. No gardening experience necessary. Come learn something new and give back to the community!

The Gunpowder Valley Conservancy's Clear Creeks Project is looking for volunteers to help plant Bayscape gardens (featuring native plants) at Miramar Landing's new community park. The events include a free workshop and hands-on gardening experience. Community service learning hours available for students. Gardening supplies will be provided. Dress for yard work and bring a water bottle.

This Bayscape installation is hosted by the Clear Creeks Project (CCKs). The CCKs project, coordinated by the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy, is a grant-funded, citizen-based initiative that helps answer a community desire to restore the water quality of the Middle River, Tidal Gunpowder, and Bird River watersheds. The project is also funded by: National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, Chesapeake Bay Trust, Baltimore County Maryland, Baltimore Gas & Electric, and Maryland Department of Natural Resource.
