Plant trees for Earth Day in Middle River
Join us on April 23 to plant 100 young trees in the Miramar Landing community. Community service learning hours available!

Do you like being outside in nature and don't mind working hard? Give back to your local community this Earth Day by participating in a tree planting at Miramar Landing Community! The Gunpowder Valley Conservancy (GVC) has planted more than 28,000 trees in the Gunpowder Watershed over the past 26 years and we need YOUR help to plant even more.
Who: Local residents, community groups, students, scout groups, business groups. Community Service learning hours available. Ages 6 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult
When: Saturday April 23, 10 am - 1 pm. RAIN or SHINE! Please arrive by 9:50 am to sign in.

Where: Miramar Landing is a community off of Middle River Road. The planting site is on the corner of Peterson Rd and Maxwell Rd (near 9262 Maxwell Rd). Park around the large triangular field. Look for tree planting signs at the intersection.
Equipment: Remember to wear boots, pants, long sleeve light color shirt, hat, gloves and bring rain gear, water bottle, and sunscreen. Water jug and light snacks will be provided

This tree planting is hosted by the Clear Creeks Project, a grant-funded initiative of the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy. Funding for this reforestation project was provided by a grant from the Chesapeake Bay Trust.
