Alert: School Cancelations Could Change Semester Break
Anne Arundel County Public Schools reminded parents that a weather cancelation next week would change the dates of semester break.

From the AACPS Communications Office:
ANNAPOLIS, MD — School officials are reminding parents in the Anne Arundel County Public Schools system that the semester break for students – scheduled for Jan. 25 and 26 – could change if classes are canceled by bad weather on any of the four days before the break.
The board-approved calendar calls for four consecutive days of high school semester exams for high school students on the days before the break. If inclement weather forces a closing of schools on any of the testing days – Jan.19 through 22 – the semester break will be moved up accordingly.

- Wednesday, January 20: B Day, periods 1 and 2
- Thursday, January 21: A Day, periods 3 and 4

Should inclement weather force a closing on one of the exam dates, the schedule will be shifted, but exams will still be administered in the order listed above.

Should inclement weather force a two-hour delay on one of the exam dates, all schools will open two hours late and close at their normal time. The high school exam schedule will remain intact.
There will be no classes for half-day, afternoon prekindergarten, or ECI students from Jan. 19-22. Morning half-day sessions will be held as scheduled, but will be canceled if schools open two hours late on any of those four days.
All AACPS schools and offices are closed on Monday, Jan. 18, for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
