Baltimore-Washington Pkwy Bus Crash Injures 14

County fire officials says the bus crash happened near state Route 32 near Laurel and injured 14 people.

LAUREL, MD — A bus crash Sunday morning on Baltimore-Washington Parkway near Laurel left 14 people hurt — three seriously — and caused traffic delays into the afternoon. Anne Arundel County Fire tweeted the crash happened near state Route 32.

Firefighters arrived to find a school bus carrying a group of adult musicians had left the roadway and ended up at the woodline on the driver’s side. All of the occupants had escaped the bus before firefighters arrived.

Fourteen people were treated for injuries. Three men ages 24, 30 and 42 were taken by paramedics to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with injuries that were serious, but not considered life-threatening. One additional adult patient was taken to Shock Trauma with minor injuries, fire officials said.

Eight adult patients with minor injuries were taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center for treatment. Two more adults were treated on the scene and declined to go to the hospital.

The school bus carried musicians from New York to Washington, D.C., The Capital reports.
